Many companies seek an outside perspective to help them with the innovation process, providing the basis for Inovo's growth plans.

In this six and a half minute segment (download iPod compatible, 35MB), Larry lays out Inovo's significant expansion plans for 2008. First, they want to double in size, both in terms of staff working directly for Inovo and in terms of collaborators. Second, they want to turn their current arrays of tools and methods into online products and services, a theme with many service-oriented companies featured on this site, such as Inner Circle Media, Procuit, and Auto Watch.

Many companies seek an outside perspective to help them with the innovation process, providing the basis for Inovo's growth plans. In some sense, these companies realize that their internal perspectives may be victims of their current success. To truly innovate, they need to see beyond the current businesses and practices that have helped them succeed to date.

I think what keeps a company in business is innovation. Companies need to be able to continually create product and services to satisfy its customers and earn new customers. I agree with Larry that the product or service must have an emotional impact. For instance, the cell phone, I feel that I can not be without a cell phone because my children will not be able to contact me. This is a product that as an emotional impact on me and I’m sure many other mothers feel the same way and this is way the cell phone is so successful. People feel that they can not operate with out one. Everything boils down to market research. Finding out what the customers want and need is the first step to product development. And just as Larry said a qualitative research must be conducted first, maybe even before the product or service is development. This where the “social butterfly” will do his or her best work, because you need someone that can communicate to people and get people to not be afraid to express their true feelings about an idea. Inovo seems to already be on the path to becoming leaders in their industry. They have already begun to be socially responsible by offering nonprofit services. Their social service is not just a good deed but it’s also a creative marketing tool. Once Inovo “train the trainers” and the trainers are getting results, good needs travel fast, and it becomes word of mouth marketing. With Inovo not holding anything proprietary tells me that main concern is innovation and getting new ideas out to the world. Tamica Frierson

In order to be successful today with a business, innovtaion is key. Being different and being creative is neccessary to set yourself apart from any other business. A company dedicated to helping others be innovated is such a great idea!! Being able to purchase tools to help do things and identify people that a company would need to talk to. Word of mouth is a good way to get word out, but I think more is needed for this kind of idea. Its a good idea to have more planned for 2008. Advertising is needed and online advertising is probably the best way to do it. More people are online now than watching tv. The younger generation is reached by doing things online and the younger generation is the one that will be starting the new businesses and the ones that can use these innovation tools.
