SRT Solutions is about creating robust change with software. Founded in 2000 by Bill Wagner and Dianne Marsh, SRT existed for a number of years as essentially a two person show. Around 2004, they began to add staff and, in 2007–2008, grew by 40%. This year, at 15 employees, SRT hopes to match or exceed that rate. Currently, they are actively recruiting for two positions: an entry level software developer and a sales professional.

SRT's hiring is complicated by the fact that they are looking for highly functional people who will engage in two types activities:

  • Outsourced software development where SRT completely manages the software development process.
  • Software mentoring where SRT backs up existing company development teams with software engineering expertise to make the resulting solutions more scalable and robust.

SRT Solutions is a small software development and mentor company according to Bill Wagner, the founder of SRT Solutions. It was originally just 2 employees for many years. In 2004 they began to add staff and in 2007-2008, they grew forty percent. This year, they are hoping to hire more to their already 15 employees and are actively searching for two positions: an entry level software developer and a sales professional. To me, only operating with two people running the company seems like a hard task. I would imagine there were many sleepless nights and frantic rushes. I do not see how a company could survive with just two people running the company and doing all of the work. That is a lot for just two people. I understand that money was probably a big contributor to why this had to be but it’s still a lot of take in. I am impressed by Bill and, I am assuming, Dianne. I’m even more impressed by how far the company has come. There is now enough money and enough need to have over fifteen employees. That is a high growing rate for a small company and they’re still hiring! They are specifically looking for two positions which I assume they have specific desires for. I also found it interesting that they are mainly an outsourced service. I didn’t know that big companies wouldn’t do their own software as a general rule. It also startled me that big companies would want software mentors to help them as they created their software. I suppose this is because I associate big companies with being self-efficient. Apparently, not all big companies are since Bill’s company is very successful at helping the bigger companies. Maybe I should, or need to, re-evaluate how I look at big companies.
